Authors’ Biographies
Barbara Ma 馬愛娥 arrived in the United States at age 11, graduated from California State University, Los Angeles, and currently lives in Southern California. She enjoys spending time with family, volunteering for humanitarian causes, hiking, and tide pooling the local beaches. Sea of Hope is the fruit of her abiding interest in sharing her personal, Asian-American, and refugee perspectives.
Tiffanie Ma 馬家玲 is a writer, homemaker, and mother. She shares her life homesteading, homemaking and beekeeping in her blog, Garden Gallivanter. She lives in a tiny mountain village in the Southern French Alps with her husband, their two children and many bees.
Illustrator’s Biography
Michael Ma 馬振球 captures a firsthand account through his captivating illustrations. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Transportation Design from Art Center, California. His early career as an illustrator has evolved into expansive conceptual design concepts with key companies to include: NASA, Intel, Mercedes-Benz, Disney and Hell Boy 2. He has also focused his design skills in Ethiopian aid efforts. A proud father of three, in his free time he enjoys traveling to U.S. National Parks, playing tennis, and golf.
